Deer Camp 2006

Here are some pics from our deer hunting camp for 2006. I was the only one who connected on a deer last week, it is my biigest ever whitetail. i also connected on a nice Wolf. I'll get my deer pics on when my dad gets them put on disk it was a nice little 4x4

What are you shooting, and how did you get to see that wolf?!

i shoot 130 barnes tsx's out of a .270 winchester, it was my dads first ever rifle, he bought it when he was 13. talk about good old days eh.

I had passed on a couple little 3 point whiteys, then i heard some shots which came from the area my uncle was hunting seeing as i was on the other side of a muskeg i had to hunt my way around to see if he had got anything. when i got to where i was going i couldn't find my uncle so i decided to sit on the edge of this big muskeg for a while.

After about 20 minutes this big female trotted up at about 200 yards. she disapeared up another trail that i din't see but for some reason she trotted back out into the clear and was quartering towards me when i popped her at about 160-180 yards, i paced it off but i don't have the longest stride ya know.

Turns out the shots i heard were my uncle shooting at a pack of wolves, due to misjudging of distance, he didn't make a kill. I guess this wolf decided to circle back to meet back up with the pack.
