Deer hoist

I've been looking at building a tripod that one can use the atv either by pulling or the winch or a block and tackle kit to lift up. Thinking of making it 12' tall... Then it lifts high enough to take the head off without sitting in the snow... No worry about stressing out the bumper hitch. I think I have it figured out. Just have to weld it up...

I built the same one myself, used telepost for the upright. If you put the pin on top of the joint & have 6" in the lower section it turns 360 degrees just great.

You mean rest the top post on top of the pin (which is inserted into the holes) and then just push it to rotate it? If te sections are round tubing I don't see why that wouldn't work. Actually, looking on their site the suggest just that!

Anyone know where to get one of those deer hoists that go into your trailer hitch? I can't seem to get one in Canada and nobody wants to ship from the USA!

My Dad and I designed one 30 years ago, before I ever saw one. I had a few people tell me I should market it, but I didnt want the hassel. One of the guys asked if he could take my idea and market it. He took it to trade shows and even sold some through cabelas. I still have people Say "well ain't that slick" when they see me use it.

So the quick winch works really well. I butchered 2 pretty large hogs and after shooting them in the brain with my 45Colt and bleeding them, I winched them up with my quick winch and drove it over to the meat pole to butcher.

Hey Gatehouse - I know a guy on the sunshine coast that carries them. It's in the SC section of the regs. I'm sure you've seen it. Keith MacKenzie is the guy's name.

Sorry - my bad I didn't read past the first page. Nice looking pork looks like about 6+ months and on a 16% ration?

5 or 6 months and fed lots of oats, potatoes, apples, greens, kale and squash from the garden. Although when we bought feed it was the16% Hog Grower IIRC.

Thanks GH - figured about that age. Here is some bacon I made recently.... (raised on our property - on ground of course) I don't have a breeding program but purchase weaners and take it from there.

Once you have real bacon, you never go back (except at Wendys once in a while lol)
