We don't eat too bad......

Doug

Thanks Joe. Yes I did not add the usual last line about kitchen sink soup and deep-fried grilled cheese sandwiches (camp joke).........

Four of us are pretty accomplished cooks, and one is a professional. But we try not to let him cook too much, he gets too many pots and pans dirty!!!

and good luck backatcha! Going for both weeks?

Doug

With that menue, it looks like you guys have to spend less time eating and more time hunting :D

escargots, sweet and sour goose legs, basmati rice, baby carrots with maple syrup

Better have some expensive wine to go with that, or what kinda hunting meal would it be ;)

Only open 7 days where I'm from Doug, but I might stick around for another week of bow after gun closes if there are tags left.

Most likely will be, we only got 2 doe tags out of 9 guys.:(

The rest of our season will look something like this:

The stove will look like this:

The food will look like this:

But in the end hopefully the results will look like this:

Thanks again Doug! I will be thinking of your menu when I am eating cold freeze dried food on the side of a mountain.

If the canvas tent was coming out, things might be different. But got no time to eat, gotta hunt :D

I only see one pic above I like Davey

Hey Doug impressed with the menu :) :)
I assume the dec menu will be the same...please...please..:dancingbanana:
Don't make me show you a unhappy smiley ;)

Back to Davey.........I did my time in tents, thirty years in the Army and used to do the hiking/snow-shoeing/ cross-country skiing with the pulks, etc etc etc. I ate enough freeze dried muck to last me a life-time. Including the old Long Range Patrol Rations (pronounced lerps) which were time-expired freeze-dried experiments on food-like objects. Even hungry cold and miserable a fellow was hard pressed to enjoy them! And now that I am an old fart I like my comfort, and REAL food. BTW yes, we have wine with all suppers....

Back to senior........oh yes we will eat at LEAST that good when you are up, including some of Marcel's home-made slow-smoked pea-meal bacon, which might just be the finest bacon you ever tasted! We eat like this for all of our camps, and work weekends, etc etc etc. Life is too short to eat poorly......

That's all part of the fun in camp isn't it? Our big thing is dinner - there is nothing like unwinding after a hard day of hiking with good food, good drinks, and good friends/family.

Great menu Doug. Thanks for sharing.

James
:)

man, and I thought we had it good

That was our menu from this years moose hunt. We also brought up a turkey fryer this year and did a few 10lb batches of hot wings.

I'll be saving your menu Doug for some fresh ideas for our camp menu next year. Thanks.
