Or something made that bed and big deer tracks after the storm last night

There has been hardly anything moving in my area ( 10 ) for the last 2 weeks.
I have hunted hard and have not seen anything moving, except for a couple hours before dawn or an hour or so after sundown. We have been looking at -50 with the wind for the last 4 or 5 days, so maybe now that it is warming a bit I will get a chance at these last 2 doe tags!

I plan to get out a few more times with the bow......wind has NOT been favourable the last week, for any of my stands.....and the weather in general, hasn't been favourable......the deer haven't shown any sign of a set pattern. Still have an additional tag to use.

I was out this morning and was surprised at the amount of tracks in the snow. I even traced one large single set into the swamp where that was a nice new rub on a tree.

They are out there... somewhere.

I was out on Tuesday with the bow, before the big storm. Nothing, nada, rien.

Back out today to leave a few apples, and our stands have been over-run. To arms!!!!!!

(tomorrow morning.......................and now it is bedtime. :D)

Well, the weather, and my cold caught up with me. I did go, and it was miserable, wind, wet snow, rain, really crappy. On top of that, I just could not stop from coughing every ten minutes or so.
My laying out tracks in the snow, payed off, with the deer following my trails most everywhere except of course while I was there.
One set of nice big tracks went right to my stand from yesterday, and to rub salt in that, it pranced all around my stand, eating off the shrubbery.
I lasted out until noon, and wet and cold I packed it in for the season.
The deer got the last laugh.
Strange, with all the coyote activity I saw last year, and heard this morning early, the rabbit population seems to be up. Lots of bunny tracks

back to JYC..........I was also sick today :( and the weather here was pretty crappy as well...........so I have not been out of the house all day. And the forecast doesn't look all that great!

Well, a late rut means a late fawn drop, and that could have benefits for coming years.
I'm concerned about the snow depth north of us though. 45 minutes north of me, they have four feet on the ground! Most of that from one fall of snow.

Holy cats! Whereabouts is that?

We have about three inches left on the ground after today's rain and "mixed precipitation." VERY sloppy walking.

The deer seem to be scarce this season around here, and we were hunting with reduced tags in Manitoba. Wonder why?...

By the way, nice image(shadow) of the man with the cross bow there Johnny.

the deer hunting here in SW Ontario has been sucky to this year !!...i honestly think we missed the rut !!...some tracks and a couple sightings, but nothing to get worked up about, and only a little less than 3 weeks left in the season !

Two mornings in a row, I wake up to this.
Wade snow to my waist to get to the feeders.
Could be another hard year in this area WMU 56
Just north of Minden, ON
