Do you guys realise how good, and how impossible, shooting off hand 2" groups with lever guns, SKSs, and muzzleloaders sounds to most of us quite familiar with shooting?2" groups, bench rested, are in reality likely better than the average, let alone with these guns. Off hand you're making professionals with $10,000 rifles look bad if you're truly able to do that. Reference the "prove it" accuracy threads, most attempts come in at double the claims. If either of you guys can do this one video you will forever be remembered as some of the greatest shooters witnessed on the Internet. I bid you good luck, and rooting for you.
I'll definitely be giving it a shot once the snow is gone. I likely won't have much range time before then. Given enough time and practice it is not difficult to get a steady shot off offhand. If you do it consistently getting good groups is not uncommon. Up until recently I never hunted whitetail from a blind/treestand/etc. All of it was spot and stalk. I don't think I have to tell anyone that it takes skill to get within 100 meters of a deer when you are moving and it is not. When you did get to that range you wanted your shots to count.
Out of curiosity. What kind of groups can you do offhand with your best rifle Ardent?
Maybe someone should start a "I can shoot 2" all day, standing/offhand, with my rifle" thread.
You know,... that way some people can put their pictures where their mouth is. Or their foot......![]()
Ardent, like some others on here, readily recognizes a horse turd on the road when he sees it
Likewise, easily recognized are claims that have absolutely no chance of being truthful.
I shoot a lot, with very accurate firearms, and when I get a 4" group offhand at 100 meters, I am ecstatic.

hawk-i, you hit it right on the button. Practice makes perfect. There is a reason why there are guys out there who consistently wound deer with gut shots and blow jaws off. If you can't shoot within 8" at 100 yards there is a big problem and I would suggest sitting in a blind and waiting for something within 20 yards. Where I grew up, if you couldn't hit within 4-6" you were definitely in the minority. I actually find it amusing that this seems to be an incredible feat.
I'm not saying its impossible but just exceptionally rare.
