Don't know if most are aware but Larry Benoit has passed at the age of 89 in early October. Larry was a bit of a deer hunting legend in North Western Ontario as he travelled here in his later years to pursue our big whitetails. Larry was labelled the "Best Deer Hunter in America" before the advent of food plots and trail cameras. His specialty was tracking and harvesting big whitetail deer in Maine and Vermont. Press release indicated he died at home with his family at his side in Duxbury Vermont. I still read his classic "How to Bag the Biggest Buck of Your Life" at least once a deer season.

I'm really sad to hear that Larry Benoit passed on. My heart go's out to the family and may Larry rest in peace and hope that he is now in the happy hunting grounds of eternity.
He and his son Lanny are the only two deer hunters who I idolized. They are the best deer hunters in the world, bar none.

I have read a couple of Benoit books and am sorry to hear. The Benoits seem to be real woodsman and incredible deer hunters. Great books ... if you get a chance to pick one up I would highly recommend doing so.

Read stories in old tattered Outdoor Life mags in my parents basement years ago...sad to hear. Would love to be able to kill a big buck like that...It will certainly be on my mind if we get some fresh snow this deer season.
