Deer hunting round under .275 caliber

If you’re in an area with the restriction but can rifle hunt deer and bear? ; afaik they give the .277s a pass. 270 win or wsm or the like is a great hammer. It’s just stupid that 270 is safe and 44mag is not.
What's really stoopid it the law states that the caliber has to be smaller than 0.275" but then the 270 is 0.277" and they allow that. <eye roll>

I live in southwestern Ontario and cannot hunt with anything above .275 caliber. I want to know what would be the best round I can use and would prefer something that is in a lever action. I have been looking at the 6.5 Creedmore but was wondering if there was something better.
Idk where you live but most of the WMU that are under the .275 caliber do not have a open gun season for deer. bows only unless their is a controlled hunt then you can use a shotgun or muzzleloader.

A faster small caliber round will hit the dirt and break up much faster then a pistol caliber round. A .223 will only penetrate a couple inches in dirt where something like the .44 mag will reach several. Their is also the fact that slower rounds tend to hit the ground and ricochet rather then penetrate it. Idk about you but I have travelled a lot in most of southwestern Ontario and it’s fairly congested some areas more then others some you can barely travel a county road(gravel including) and not see a house.

A Browning BLR in .270 would suit your needs nicely. It cover all four of what Ont has to offer ie; Coyotes, Deer and Moose in one setup.
