Deer hunting, thinking near Whitecourt AB

Curious what people's experiences have been with going out for WT in the 346/349 wmu's near Whitecourt? Me and a few buddies have been pretty busy with work and can't get much time off work during the season so hoping to get out places within 2ish hours of Edmonton. Was supposed to get out this weekend to scout/hopefully get lucky but other things came up. Not looking to be walked on to anybody's honey hole, just wondering if these wmu's are worth our time or if we should go elsewhere based on limited time to hunt.

Lots of deer out there. Any day away from this city is a good day, but I doubt you'd have a hard time at least seeing Bambi. I'm heading out again next weekend not too far from there. I'm hoping we get a little snow before then.

I grew up there. There are lots of deer up that way you should have no problem getting on. The mule deer live in town and wonder around. Try going in-between Whitecourt and Mayerthorpe. There is lots of farm land and crown land if you stay north of hwy 43 where you can find your whitetail.

Some very good Mule Deer out that way as well.
