Deer hunting with a spear!

Pretty good considering that spear is not designed to be thrown.

Imagine what he could do with an actual throwing spear!

That's a boar spear. I think it's meant to be used like a pike.

Real men drop on the deers' back with a hunting knife, like Tarzan.:cheers:

Well certainly meant to be used with hands on it.. not thrown..

the flukes are designed to keep the prey from running up the shaft and goring you.

that said.. he killed it

Is that even a legal weapon? Where does that show up in any hunting regulation at least in Canada? Would it be classified as archery? Thanks but I'll leave spear hunting as a historical fact to my thousand year old ancestors.

In BC you can legally harvest a deer with a rifle in a centrefire cartridge (no caliber specified, as long as it is centrefire), a shotgun 20 gauge or larger with #1 Buck or larger, or bow (in the regs they clearly say what kind of bow, down to the pull and weight of the arrow/bolt). Nothing else would make a legal harvest.

I don't know. It seems more about finding a way to kill rather than a new way to hunt. More of a bragging thing. Killing animals cleanly is what we should all be after and that just looks like a good way to wound animals.

The only positive is that if the general hunting public were to try this I think there would be a whole lot of missing.

Just doesn't impress me.
