.535 lead round ball, a patch, and 85 grains of FFG. Have experimented with Old E 3F some and may switch to that when my 2F runs out. I don’t shoot far and the accuracy is good to my maximum of about 75 paces. No sense using sabots and optics when you’re starting the fire with a piece of rock!!

Nothing fancy here, a .54 caliber Thompson Center percussion Hawken with a 230 grain round ball and 90 grains of RS Pyrodex. The bush is thick where I hunt so if I get lucky, a shot should be under 50 yards.

I use 265gr Hornady FTX with TC green sabots and 100gr of 777 2f powder. I use the 25 ACP ignition plug from PR to decrease the crud ring . My wife and I each took a deer yesterday with this combination and the combination worked well at 70 yards and 160 yards.
