Deer Hunting with the Martini Henry 577-450, legal in BlackPowder Season?

Hey Guys;

I'm wondering if my Martini Henry 1886 cal 577-450 is legal in Ontario's BlackPowder season? I'd like to chase deer with it and it would be nice if I could take advantage of the blackpowder season.

I guess I don't see it as a "modern" firearm with it being loaded with a 530 grain patched lead projectile and Goex 2F... Topped off with cream of wheat... My wife says I am crazy... Hey, wait a second, I think my wife has figured me out!!!

Ah, good point bdft. I just checked and it says "muzzle loader" season... So I guess the Martini Henry is out...

Martini Henry, rifle only, Doesn't get that much special attention. I want to hunt with a 577 snider carbine....

No problem using it during the gun season. It would not qualify for black powder muzzle loading season.

Martini Henry would be my preference over the Snider. Either one would require a taller front sight and some trips to the range first. The Snider can be rigged to operate as a muzzle-loader according to a post I read at "British Militaria Forums. Good luck, Dave
