Deer killed by coyotes ***WARNING GRAPHIC PIC****

coyotes

If you can't see them..there are to many..if you can see them..there are waaaaay to many..save a deer, (or hound, or cat or chicken, or calf) shoot em.

I tied the deer to a tree behind my house down in a little valley and sat for 2 hours each night after work until dark, nothing came to the bait. Wind was good too and I was in a blind. Nothing would touch it until after dark. Id go the next day and more would be ate and scat all around. They dont hit it until after dark and I've tried calling them with howls and distress and they wont come. These coyotes travel atleast 2-5km every couple of days. Not sure if they always stay together like that or not but the tracks from the bush to thier backyard is insane. After they were scared off the bait they ran back about 500 yards and sat down and watched from the tree line. You can see where they were laying and sitting down in the snow. Crafty lil buggers.

that deer wont go to waste, I wasnt going to leave it in my neighbours backyard, they are about 75 years old and couldnt move it themselves. They also have 2 little dogs and they wont even let them outside now for the fear of the coyotes coming back.

hear them evernight as well. We need NIGHT HUNTING LOL

I just spent a month in Alberta basing out of my in-laws place I saw 12 different coyotes on theirs and a neighours property in one morning.

That was on 2 quarter sections tells me there are far to many coyotes around some areas was only able to shoot 3 of them.

I was out feeding the horses after dark with my 2 yr old son. I heard a coyote howl right close to the barn. Went back in,grabbed rifle, left son inside. The yote never came back after hearing me.

o ya they arent far away when I hear them either, after deer hunting one or two would sit about 200-300 yards away from the barn barking at us from the treeline almost every night. My dog usually gets into howling matches with them also, he usually gives up before the coyotes do though

The coyotes wont come and play in the daylight? Find a trapper, coyote snares work well after dark. I live in Nova Scotia and the place is full of coyotes but you can only hunt them with a shotgun unless your hunting them during deer or bear season (with a tag). My father lost a couple calves one year to them. We did tag one with shotguns but its not easy. I swear they can smell gun oil from miles away. The only thing that was keeping the coyote population in check was the price of pelts, now thats down in the toilet.

Cautious Coyotes

Ref sitting on bait...in the early 80's, I was posted to CFS Baldy Hughes..outside of Prince George BC. I got my trappers lic, and helped a local with pest beaver, and had the run on coyotes. One thing my partner I did learn about the dogs, the closer they get to a kill, or a carcass...the more cautious they become. Unbelievably cautious.. We would put traps and snares all around a dead moose, nada...Until an old trapper told us to put the snares down the trails, 3/4 of a click away(in the snow of course) Out that far, they seem to run in on the kill with less caution, and sure enough we started catching them off incidental winter, or coyote kills. but never any on a kill site..

This would be a good example to send to the lieberal left papers. This is how animals die in the wild. In that light, how is hunting cruel?

In the fall moose hunt, me and an associate came across a pack of wolves chewing the back end of a buffalo calf, while the mother stood in the back ground watching helplessly. Never seen anything of the likes of it, but it's nature taking it's course i quess.
Should've taken pictures.
