Deer ppc carbine

Well....

As for pistol cartridges themselves....357mag/44mag are excellent..10mm and 45acp work well....both require proper bullet weight/design to work well.
As for platforms...well whatever floats yer boat.....semi/lever/bolt...wuteva

Deer fall humanely/definitively to the above mentioned cartridges...when shot placement/range are appropriate....no different than any other type of hunting approach should be.

With proper expanding bullets at keeping within bow range id have no issues using my 9mm jrc on white tail.
Many ppl will say it is not enough but ive skinned many deer shot at 30 to 50 yards with buckshot and found only 1 or 2 pellets in the vitals. A pcc 9mm will be more accurate and send a larger heavier expanding bullet thru more tissue
Ive wrapped a bear hide around the carcass and filled the chest cavity with fat trimmings and at 30 yards a 115gr hp zipped thru taking out ribs on entry and exit and buried in the sand on the off side. Thats more than enough for white tail at 40 yards. I use my jrc 9 for calling wolves in the timber

Well, since you did specify Carbine, and not rifle, then the aforementioned Ruger .44 Carbine (if you can find one that's not egotistically priced), or what has become one of my favorites...the Universal Vulcan .440. Many have likely not heard of them, since Universal Firearms only completed about 1500 of them from around 1964-67. They were for all intents and purposes a .44 magnum pump action carbine, loosely based on the M1 Carbine. Search it out, they are so cool you might wonder why they aren't re-produced today.

I have used my JR carbine in the Bush a lot. Nice to carry and lots of hitting power for my short shots in the bush!
147g hand loaded to 1000 FPS.
Cheers

What caliber you using? 10mm? Threaded barrel? Takedown version?
I’ve been interested in these for awhile now and you’ve sparked my interest…

Maybe I'm missing something here but, so many folks swear by a .357 or .44 carbine levergun for medium game hunting and everyone who's used a semi-auto ruger .44 carbine says it's the ultimate light hunting rifle so.....why is there no pcc or semi-auto carbine in .357 or .44 mag? Everyone seems obsessed with 9mm. Aside from ammo cost I have zero desire for a rifle in that caliber and both .357 and .44 are a dream to reload. I can understand 9mm in a semi-auto if you want to mag dump into paper but honestly that gets boring real fast.
