This Monday, December 3, is the opening day of the last shotgun hunt for deer in southern Ontario this year. It would be interesting to see what slug guns people are using for this. So with that in mind, lets see 'em. Here's a pair to start off with:

Both Remington 870 Express 20 ga. Top one has a 21" Remchoke barrel and a Bushnell Banner 3x9x40 in Burris Zee rings.
The bottom one has a 20" smoothbore slug barrel and open sights and is fitted with a Speed Feed synthetic stock.I'm not sure which one I'll be using, but I will have them both in the truck with me.

Our gun season just ended for deer here and now we go to string and stick. I was using my 870 12 ga Wingmaster with the 20" smoothbore (IC) barrel and open sights. It shoots very accurately our to 100m with standar Federal or Winchester foster style slugs.
Unfortunately I didn't get anything....didn't even see a legal deer. It has been a really bad year for deer in may part of the world.

Good luck

Interesting topic. Been thinking of getting a Benelli M2 20ga slug gun to carry along......see quite a few deer when out bird hunting. Chances are that I won't see one when I am actually looking for those :)

Nice looking pumps, btw.

I live in a densley populated suburb and the only arm allowed for hunting is a shotgun. These are the two that I use.

The gun on the top is a Benelli M1 Super 90 with a fully rifled barrel w/open sights.I use this when I have to hunt from the ground in thick brush. The bottom gun is a Benelli Super Black Eagle with a Custom E.R.Shaw thick walled fully rifle barrel topped with a Burris Sgnature 1.5-6 power scope.I use this when I hunt from a treestand.

Well I have two options yet to be used on deer but I am thinking of taking one next year for whitetail. I have a JC Higgins 12ga semi, and a REm 870 wingmaster.

Leaning towards the Wingmaster with a new 18.5" rifled barrel. that or my No4Mk1
