Deer with a toopee'

This weekend, I went on a solo hunting trip up at fogducker and dumbdawg's camp.
Had a huge doe (some kind of amazon doe, better than 200lbs easy) come in to within 20 yards, turned broadside, stood there. Got a real good look. (no tag )
She had black hair between her ears, maybe an inch long, standing up like a crew cut.
Is that a local thing? I've been hunting the north country for more than 35 years, and that's the first I've seen like that, other than a couple of mounts.

Ok, very funny all, but it's true, I saw her at twenty yards, for a good five minutes.

My first Whitetail has quite a mohawk, but I would say that was from having a wannabe taxidermist do the job.
Perhaps she was just out of bed and was going to her bathroom to do her hair when you rudely took up residence in her hallway.

They don't have a well.
Maybe they have a still, but I've yet to find it.

over the years we have taken a few deer out there...none fit that look...she must have had a bad hair day...
you going up some more to try your luck?

Are you sure you weren't sampling from the still? LOL. My camp is just down the road from foduckers and dumdawgs camp. I've ner heard tell of a deer like that. 200lb doe! That sounds like a real bute!!! To bad you didn't have a tag John. Take care.

I hope to get up again, but if may not be for a while, maybe at least once more before the season closes.
I hope to see her again, maybe with horns though instead of hair.

you dont know any one with a doe tag you could drag along?half a deer is better then no deer

we have taken some nice size deer out of there as well as seen some big buggers but not able to get close to them

The deer are growing their winter coats now... Chilly shot a big doe yesterday with the Muzzle loader... Shaggy hair all around its head.
