Hi there GunNutz. I have pictures of a deer with a weird skin condition on my game cam and was wondering if anyone can identify what's wrong with the poor little fella. I watched this deer for about a half an hour the other morning and he was scratching like mad every few minutes, also if he happens to walk by in Sept would he still be edible.
Thanks
Hope the pics work.

Looks like some form of mange, not CWD. No CWD deer I've seen has been missing hair like that and still looked like there was meat on the bones.

Found this, looks similar

Thanks for the replies. I dont think I would shoot it if it looks too gribley too eat. His buddy that he has been hanging out with I would fling an arrow at for sure.

This doe has been on our property for a few seasons now. She has a new fawn which appears very healthy. We noticed some dark stripes on her side in the spring, thought it had something to do with shedding. However, she has gotten progressively worse over the summer. This showed up on the gamecam yesterday. I don't know if this is the same thing as what the OP is showing. There is another doe that hangs out with her and the fawn but she doesn't show any signs of this.
