I shot a couple of mallards and on my second shot the entire bottom of the duck got cut out like a cartoon.
It was about 100' high and to my right, the trees are about 90-120' around this slough so I figure 100' is average.
I was loaded with #2 3" 1550FPS Winchester steel thru a mod choke. I figure the cup didn't seperate completely from the shot and it went through more like a slug. The entire breast from the neck down to just above the feet was cleanly missing.
Have not seen this before so I hope it was a fluke. The first and lower flyer took a few pellets to the head/neck, 1 to the wing and 1 to the breast.
Anyone else experience this before?
