Which would be the better way to go?
1 get the existing barrel tapped to accept screw in chokes
2 buy extra barrels in the lenght and choke I prefer
This is my basic zombie gun that I would to be able to use for other purposes when required.
Also there have been a surprising lack of studies or printed papers relating to zombies and poultrey posted on the internet, and I'm figuring if humans can get bird flu, poultrey could become a flying nightmare that may need to be dealt with.

Didn't mean to be rude with my last post. The reason I was asking was I wanted to know what you had in mind, here's what I have:

A new to me Mossberg 500 off the EE. It came with a 18.5 inch cylinder bore barrel. I also bought a 30 inch barrel with a full choke of the EE. I figure with a quick change I could go from shooting water jugs with my bro for fun with the short barrel and some number 4 shot to shooting skeet with my brother in law with the long barrel and some bird shot.

Changing the barrels takes a few seconds and I figure I could do most of whatever can be done with a shotgun with this combination.

Putting in the screw in chokes will have to depend on how thick the barrel is down at the end of the pipe. If its too thin, then they cannot put threads into it. They may also have to cut a few inches off so it is a little thicker there. But either way a gunsmith will let you know in about 4 seconds. Actually now that I think of it, they probably will have to cut a few inches off to get rid of the choke and tappering already there.

Depending on which model 1300 you have, getting an extra barrel may not be an option. I think that the defender model with the longer mag tube does not accept regular 1300 barrels?

i dont find barrels to be an issue with the mag tubes.......simple cut of the magazine band, move it to where you want and tack weld it back on :)
I dont recommend it though
it was a very last resort for me
