For Mossberg 500/590 and Maverick 88 Shotguns.

This kit essentially provides a conversion to 590S functionality, but in a more robust design. It contains our patent-pending Universal Cartridge Adapter and low-drag no-snag Magazine Follower which allows smooth cycling of 1-3/4" Minishells up to 3" Magnum cartridges in the same magazine. The adapter is constructed from vulcanized thermoplastic rubber, and the follower is machined from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum. This kit is compatible with any Mossberg 12-Gauge pump-action firearm with a 3" Chamber and machined grooves in the receiver. Please refer to the picture below or the installation video below to confirm your firearm's compatibility.

Please note there may be a short break-in period for some adapters after installation. Cycle a few magazines of full-size shells if you initially experience issues with 1-3/4" shells, please reach out to us if problem persists.

*The Cartridge Adapter and Magazine Follower are optimized to function as a pair, but the factory follower may function as well for those that do not wish to remove it.

Does this device still allow the shells to be unloaded through the loading port? It looks like they should come out easily enough.

Also who has mini shells in stock?

Defender Tactical says:

"Yes you can still unload thru the loading port, you just need to push the tongue of the adapter into the receiver and out of the way while the shell is released."

On cold weather:

Here's a customer who's tested it to -23F and left a review on Defender Tactical's website:

I was very excited to find this product as I had just purchased a 590 and then found about the 590S. After some more research I found out the 590S still might have some teething problems. Since the adapter has to flex to function I was concerned about its performance in the cold. I reached out to Defender Tactical and got a response quickly, Wes confirmed that they had tested down to -5F but welcomed any feedback. I have since done a test at -22.8F with 3" and 1 7/8" shells. The adapter functioned fine with both and was still very flexible. Great product!!

Hi there North Sylva. I guess you had a busy weekend (!) so I'm just echoing this comment from Vewdu. Please do chase down a promise from Defender Tactical; we want that stuff up here in the frozen north.
