What size of a 3(5 shot group)would you consider great rifle and ammo combo at 100 yards, just 100 yards to minimize human factor. .250’s”, .300’s” or anything less than . 350”. Thanks
 
Depends on the gun and caliber, as there are some guns you cannot get to shoot under 1 MOA.

Everybody has their own opinion of accuracy. Some are happy with an inch, some are happy with inch and half, some will toss a gun away because it doesn't do three quarters. Then there are some that expect everybody to shoot half inch.
 
I’d be happy with a rifle that can shoot .5 moa consistently, but it’s not easy… for me anyway.

Since this is posted in the Target and Precision Rifle Forum I would say anything less than .300"would be good.

If this was Short Range Benchrest it would have to be less than .100"...

You are actually asking about precision not accuracy.

I think of it more in terms of the the intended purpose of the gun. For PRS for example where stages are often 8-12 rounds then I need my group to be consistent with that many rounds over the course of a match where 200 rounds might be shot. Since the targets are mostly 1-2 MOA as long as my gun can hold .6 and under I am in good shape. For F class where strings are 12-17 rounds and the V bull is .5 MOA, well I certainly hope to be holding .5 and under for vertical. In my ideal world .4 for that many shots. Having said that I am not convinced that many folks and guns can shoot below .25 on demand. Sure for one target but even in short range benchrest the aggs at 100 are over .1. Not that that is not amazing, but that is a whole other rabbit hole.

Thanks for all your opinions, reason I’m posting this is more of my self satisfaction. All my 3 rifles can shoot less than .300” , thats 3 5 shots groups. but inside of me still wants to continue searching for the best gun/ ammo combo . Need to know when to stop chasing the holy grail. I always put 40% on the shooter and 60% for the equipment . Guess this is the reason I can’t stop, its an expensive quest, lol

LOL, the VAST MAJORITY of shooters are not capable of anything like consistent .300 groups. For an average shooter, most rifles will be more capable than their owner. Anything under 1 MOA would be considered to be good. Anything approaching 1/2 MOA would be exceptional.

If you and your rifle are capable of consistent .300" groups, that is very good and you ought to consider benchrest competition. You aren't gonna win at that level but you are in the right boathouse to be sure.
 
The .300” groups has nothing to do with me, its all about the rifle and ammo, all I did was pull the trigger, lol, even some my friends are getting same results. In a highly skilled level individual, it will print better.,

Uhh ... No. Groups that small have everything to do with you.

There are LOADS of "shooters" who would turn your rifle into a 3-4 MOA rifle.

0.3” is very good and you should be happy with both your rifle and your performance. You may be able to improve both but the cost of time and money will not be proportional to the small gains that remain possible

You right there, considering 40% of the factors is the operator, how many times when I told myself its all good now, I guess thats where the fun is and keep me going,
