So I found some simple green in a squirt bottle at Cambodian Tire. Now, when my M14 comes, how do I clean the gun with this?
Do I dilute it with a certain volume of hot water (boiling maybe?) and then soak the entire action and barrel? Or just squirt it down and let it sit and work it's magic then wipe it down and repeat?
Is it safe to spray down the bore with? Is there even cosmo IN the bore? Or would boiling water be better?
Parkerizing is rust resistant right? So since we are using water with the simple green possibly, as long as we wipe it down dry and oil it it will be fine right? Are there any parts on the gun that cannot come into contact with water?
Are there any NO-NO's when it comes to cleaning this thing that us newbs should know about?
May sound like a LOT of stupid questions, but for someone who has never cleaned a rifle and is scared ####less of wrecking their dream gun, I think they are valid....lol
I would appreciate any input you guys have to offer!! Thanks!!!!
