It looks French. Converted from flint to percussion in the manner used by France. Stock looks to be cut down, band moved back. Can you read anything in the stock stamp?

Sorry, shes absolutely worthless, But as a benevolent gesture I will pay you whatever it would take to ship it to my house ;) .

Kidding,

Shes in the French pattern, so possibly Dutch, swede, Hungarian,Polish,Russian,German/Prussian and any/every country between. A honestly lovely looking specimen for a collector/shooter to keep as is or restore.

If she were mine Id keep her, restore her, love her and shoot her. But if your hankering to sell her Id say 600-1300 bucks depending on the functionality of the lock, the condition of the bore ,muzzle and lock mortice and if theres enough nipple left to easily get it out and replace it.

Amazing firearm.

Think about it Troops that were mounted generally had more financial resources then men of the line.

I don't think it would bring more than $400 - $500 in this area. In addition to probably being cut down, it appears to have been refinished and the stock has a major crack through the lock area. I think now it is primarily a single shot shotgun for grouse or rabbits. I think its collectable value is only as a source of parts for rebuilding a gun with a complete stock and barrel

Seems to have been fairly recently "restored" with the use of a buffing wheel. Rusted steel surfaces do not show that kind of high gloss, even after the rust is removed, without being abrasive-buffed. Good wall-hanger.
