A number of export checks are being done by the US. Like I said, you get caught and suddenly you are never allowed back in to the US for life....is it worth it. Make sure your paperwork is correct in all respects and with all the applicable agencies....

There has been random spot checks by the US just inside their border. I have gone through two in the last year alone, one on Hwy 10, the other on Hwy 83.

Last week I was searched by Canadian customs. I was in Canada, studying reptiles. About a half mile from customs when suddenly a voice said to come with his. Customs.

Apparently if you are close to customs they search you.

I was detained, searched and I wasn't even a half a mile from the border. Once I asked the customs officer why I am being detained, he said "because you were in a customs area". I asked if I was under arrest. He said no. I grabbed my ID and walked out, over their objections that I am required to be searched.

Gotta love the summer students at customs. They do looks scary when they wear gloves. I think it makes it easier for them to calculate taxes.

Just wish they knew there own Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

You can import ammo into Canada under certain conditions 100% legally. Again, it's not a Canada issue, and the issue of taking ammo out of the U.S. into Canada requires following simple and easy to abide by guidelines set out by the U.S. Federal Government and the U.S. state you're going into and coming out of.

Out of respect of all the dealers here including myself, if you want to know how, you'll have to do the footwork on your own to figure it out. However it is possible, and legal. Don't let anyone tell you it's not unless they have first hand proof of what they did and how it got them busted. (which means they did it wrong)

I also doubt the export fee is still at $100. The export licence fees were recently increased, and they now have to pay 3% of the value of the exported firearm in addition to their annual licence. My guess would be somewhere around $250 (their annual permit is now $2750) plus the manufacturers of everything they export must also have a US export permit.

I can vouch for $100.00 fee at BGC as I was there a month ago.
