HI
Have a question. Can you use a full lenght die for just neck sizing . I cant find a neck die only for the 43 ( 11 mm ) Mauser & just want to neck size only. Or can a full lenght die be fix for neck size only & how. Thanks for any help.

By definition, you cannot neck size with a FL sizing die. Yes, you can partial neck size but that can create other issues in time.

The simplest methods is to use a Redding Type S bushing neck die from something similar and just swap in an appropriate bushing IF available.

Plan b is to get a custom Lee collet neck die... this would be my preferred method. Lee makes 43 Mauser FL die sets so is familiar with the cartridge.

There is really no off the shelf neck sizers for this chambering.

Way more money and the odds of success is slim... reaming a properly manf FL sizer is a PITA... dies are surfaced hardened.

You can buy die blanks and machine those but you are so far into $$$, just get a custom Lee collet die and enjoy.

Reamer was only $ 30.00 Ca. including shipping . Hope the dam thing cuts.

Have fun running it into a hardened die body.

You can essentially neck size with a FL dies set so long as you back the die out just enough that the shoulder is not touched. Maybe that is what Jerry is referring to as "partial" neck sizing, but if it doesn't get all of the neck, it gets all that matters. I've been doing it this way for many years, learned it from the Old Man, who did it that way for many years before me.
