A prescribed antique must have a bore diameter greater than 8.3mm. About .327". Pretty sure 8mmLebel has a bore diameter smaller than that.
So the Gras, modified to 8x50R would not qualify as antique.
 
According to the Textbook of Small Arms (1909) the French 8x50r Balle D has a bullet diameter of 0.327", and the Lebel Rifle has a bore of 0.315 with .0059" rifling.

So by the "Book" I don't see it as Antique. Given these conversions were done under emergency conditions, slugging the bore may reveal something else entirely.
