A classic turkey hunting morning with a drissle changing to a downpour and back again. Went out a little later this morning so I didn't have to sit in the rain quite as long. Heard the first gobble at about 6:00 waited a bit then reached in and pulled out Delilah to let her sing a little love song with a hickory striker. Thomas took to gobbling right back and was followed by another on the ridge over on the tree hugger's property. A few minutes and more gobbles from the first bird and Delilah sang out another soft purr fadding to a cluck and then a soft yelp. No more set her down when a crash in the leaves bout 20yrds away turned out to the tree hugger's Tom. Took a few minutes for him to clear the brush line and I had to wait for him to quit stareing at me before Old Noginator came to my shoulder, spit fire and Thomas did the backflip. I jumped up pumpin' another one into Nog just in case to see the first bird scooting out of Dodge. 24 yrds!
