I noticed a dent or pinch in the shoulder of one of my .270 Win rounds today - anyone see this before? Any concerns?

It's factory Federal Premium ammo, never loaded in the gun yet, and all the other rounds in the box are fine.

Edited to add:

Sent an e-mail to the importer, and this is the reply I got the very next day:

Thank you for the e-mail, we are sorry that you experienced a neck fold
on our ammunition, this is not typical of our quality standards, and we
do appreciate you letting us know about your experience.

Since we value our customers, we will be sending you a check in the
amount of $10.00, as compensation for your frustration. Please provide
us with your mailing address so we can request the check and then mail
it to you.

Again, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

A dent is no big deal, but that looks like there's a wee hole. It may be just the picture though. Of course, if there is a hole, don't shoot it. Contact Federal's Canadian distributor. They may or may not do anything though.

Dents are ok to shoot, but that one looks more like a crease. I wouldn't shoot it in my rifle but I might in yours:p As sunray has done all the leg work for you, I would contact them and see what they have to say.

I'd contact federal. I had some 270 winnie ammo that was out of spec, and they sent me a coupon to redeem a new box at the store. Last week I purchased some Hornady LeverEvolution 45/70, and every shell had a swollen section . The shop I bought them from took them right back.

i would say dont shoot that i might split at the neck....

contact the manufacturer or don't ethier way.....

I have a case of 250 rounds of bulgarian 7.62x54r surplus and when i opened it up, I saw quite a few are dented. Ill get some pics tomorrow.

I have had a factory new Winchester empty case with a similar fault. It looks like a fold rather than a crease.

I think the best thing to do is scrap it. If you fired it the resulting case might look perfect but actually have a serious flaw.

You don't want a 50,000+ psi incident inches from your head....

Likewise, quite a few shoulder and neck deformities on Combloc ammo over the years, particularly on steel cased stuff.
