I got a used FL rcbs die in 22-250...it's marked....RCBC 22-250 FL 74.....not sure what the 74 is?????

When I FL resize brass it dents it....if I back the die to where it stops denting it then its too tight for the gun....

the die is clean...no excess lube....ive tried spray, gel and wax with all the same result :(

could this be a custom die that's too tight for my gun????

HELP!!!!!!!

Where on the case is it dented? Are the dents the same size and shape on all the cases or do you get one dent then two dents, etc.

Only one dent everytime.....not same spot in reference to the die though....sometime the dent is at 6 oclock...then 3 oclock then....etc

It goes through the body of the die.
Maybe it is covered by the lock ring?

the die is clean...no excess lube....ive tried spray, gel and wax with all the same result
Just to be clear, the shoulder doesn't need any lube, and the neck just a dab.
Make sure you let the lube fully dry, too.

One more thing....the locking ring sits right over top the hole.....is that an issue?? Never had this issue with all my other rounds????
