dented necks

My dad has a Rem. 788 in .222 that he wants me to start loading for one of these days. Right now he just shoots factory in it.

I took a look at some of the brass from the fired factory rounds and the neck is flat on one side?

Any ideas?

Will disappear on resizing.

I have a heavy barrel 223 in a 70 winchester and I find that if I work the bolt hard the samething happens tomy brass. If I work the bolt slow it comes out round.
Resize it neck or full length and you are good to go.

It really made me wonder what the h"ll but there was three of us there and We all seen it and We were all sober.

First Rifle out of over 90 rifles that I have seen do it so to me yes it was an oddity.
