Dented shotgun barrel

I came across a shotgun barrel that was dented from a fall over. I was going to just shorten it but it got put on the shelf with the other I'll get to it jobs. Well just the other day I was able to purchase a used Hydraulic dent remover like the one in Brownells. Man is this thing slick. You place it beside the barrel and adjust a stop collar so that the pusher is right at the dent. Then you push it in the barrel and when the stop collar is at the end of the barrel you know you are at the right place. Then you turn an allen head screw in the end and taking your time the dent slowly rises out. I almost wish I had more dented stuff so I could play with this more. If you got something dented let me know.

Sounds cool. Just be sure not to take dents out of old damascus barrels. The welds in those will be weakened by the dent, causing a 'situation'.

News to me; I have taken dents out of several damascus barrels with no cracks and no failures.
