I am looking at purchasing one of the mk12 semi auto shotguns and was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with them. You seem to get quite abit for the price but was wondering if they are any good. I believe they are turkish made so not sure how good of quality they are.

Good video

I purchased a Derya MK12

Really like it! No jams with 2 box of slugs followed with a box of bird shot! Yes the mags are a little tights but will shurely loosen up with time ! Suprisingly precise with slugs ! A bit heavy but the AR ergo give a tight grip and position!

I admit I was drawn by the tacti cool non restricted part of the thing since I usually use an over under for small game or center fire and black powder for big games . But I think I could use the MK 12 for Turkey hunting or even Deer or Moose with slugs at close ranges ! It is well made and comes with a case and accessories. I dont regret my purchase.

Enjoy

Who's got the best price on these? I'm not shopping myself, but a buddy (not a web forum guy) told me last night he wants to get a red one. Since I'll get to play with it, I thought I'd try to get an answer for him.

Can shells be loaded one at time through the side with empty mag?
(ie: Can I justify this purchase for shooting trap?)

Does anyone know if the bolt release issue of it not working properly have been fixed?

Don't forget the Typhoon F12 is the other competition. Enlarged mag release, fully working bolt release.

Yes like any gun you can put one round in the chamber...

The OP asked if you can load a round through the port on an empty mag, and the answer is NO. The design of the mag/follower prevents the bolt from being closed on an empty mag. You can load a single shell through the port with magazine removed, and by tilting the gun in such a way that it doesn't fall out through the magwell before you close the bolt.

With the new bolt release available through t&t arms this is not true.

I can load and fire one at a time with an empty mag in.
The new bolt release is big improvement

Thanks for all the replies. I was kinda back and forth on the F12 or the mk12. It seems the mk12 is pretty solid and has some options for aftermarket parts like a better bolt release. I think ill order an mk12 and give it a go. Does anyone know if the recoil on these using slugs is not bad?

It kicks ;-) but it is quite manageable !!

Maybe a silly question but would these be good for 3gun shooting?

Yes it is, but keep in mind that it will move you up to open division. Typically due to the way our laws work guys get a tube fed Semi-Auto that is chambered in 3-1/2" as if you trim the plug so that it is just shy of being able to get the 6th 3-1/2" round in then the tube can actually hold 7 rounds of 2-3/4". This falls into a "loop hole" in our laws. Where as the derya being a box mag fed gun it only holds 5 and will only ever be able to hold 5 legally... Unless derya were to make a pistol version and offer it with the 10 round mag... Hint hint, nudge nudge derya!
