Have you tried taking the stock off your AR to try on the shotgun?
I actually broke down before going to bed last night and tested a couple stocks as it seems nobody knows. Really bad day at work, a few beer and fatigue led to embedding the screwdriver I was using in my thumb. After i stopped the bleeding, I found that the commercial sized stock fit best.
Ouch! How bad did you stab yourself with the screwdriver?
And in the end, you didn't change out the stock?

OK, I have done this and it takes a bit of work. First off, even though the Buffer tube on the MK-12 looks the same as the AR10/AR15 it's quite different. On an AR rifle you install the buffer and spring at he back of the lower receiver and the buffer is held in place by a pin. On the MK-12 the buffer and spring are installed from the rear of the buffer tube and there is a larger round nut that holds it in place.
I managed to install my Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock but I had to do a bit of grinding on the front lower angled square part of the buffer tube so the quick disconnect would fit, plus the stock itself was a bear to install. I basically had to use a rubber hammer to get it on, it was really tight, but I managed. Once on it fits really well but it's something that once you install it.
don't try and remove it.
This setup should work work with pretty well any Milspec fixed stock, because the milspec buffer tube is slightly smaller than the commercial one, but since you can't change out the buffer tube you have to find a stock that will fit on the MK-12 buffer tube that comes on the rifle.
That said, I didn't test every stock out there and I'm only posting my experience with trying to install the Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock on my rifle.

Yeah, that's good to hear. I think if the PRS was a commercial type stock my fitment might have been a little easier. Mine was a hassle but it looks really good on the rifle. Was yours basically plug and play or did you have to modify anything?
