Yep, you have the Gen 2 version without an oring and one screw holding the barrel on, also the mag release is larger. Wish I had of waited for this model but I didn’t know there was going to be a Gen 2. Thanks for the pics and enjoy!!

"just buy one already" lol id rather count the wrinkles on a dogs balls then buy another Turkish shotgun! Ive seen, shot and handled more Turkish shotguns then you can shake a stick at and I have YET to witness one work first hand.

They either utilize crappy metals, have dangerously machined components or receivers, pins swapped out with finishing nails, optic rails that literally fall off after 250 rounds. And even if you manage to get a well made one, getting one that actually cycles reliably enough that you can shoot competitions with it is another challenge altogether lol.

my buddy has a MKA 1919 match gen 2 that to this day (after being sent back to TI AND had well over 500 rounds thru it) is LUCKY to empty 3 mags consecutively without having a malfunction. Hes not the only one, almost all the turkish shotguns I see at 3 gun matches fail at some point in the day. Young Guns, a Canadian utubers praises his, releases all sorts of videos of him tinkering with it, but yet to this day, i believe his turkish shotgun wouldnt cycle an entire case of target loads without a malfunction.....

WOW! Well to date my Derya Mk12 has over 900 shells through her and the last 700 (since the break in was complete) has not a single malfunction. I even won my last IPSC match with it.

I am on my second one. Only because the second day out to the range it ran all day with only one stoppage and then the guy there with me was so impressed that he bought it from me in my driveway! It has not had one stoppage since.

The next weekend my friend John ran mine two days in a row. The week after he got one. His break in was done in one day on 75 buckshot. It had one stoppage on light birdshot a week later and has not has a stoppage since. He went on to place 2nd place with it at the next IPSC shotgun match. He last told me he has over 1000 shells through his now.

A guy I work with tried mine. He then bought one off the EE here. His has never had a stoppage.

My buddy Jay the OP tried mine. It ran like a Swiss watch and then he got one. I believe it runs excellent.

I guess all 5 of us are just a fluke and I should advise them to sell the POS. LOL.

Cheers

Well this thread convinced me. With the sale at SFRC 856 all in :)

That's an AWESOME price! (And I was looking at doing the same, but my wife would question 'why' I need two! LOL)

Murray 3-D, you say 'Turkish shotguns', but fail to mention 'which' ones. It's more of a blanket statement which from my experience with the Derya MK12, is misplaced.

Cheers
Jay

So what, 5 of you are lucky, heck maybe 10 of u are lucky, but then 11th guy gets one thats a complete basket case. The turks dont give a sh!t, so the retailer cant do much, so that guy ultimately ends up loosing big. Cycle repeats. Some models are worse then others. Many of you are happy with your Turkish shotguns, meanwhile a bunch of us arnt. So dont act surprised when u publish a thread marketing these shotguns to newcomers, and end up having a little negativity from burned customers mixed in amongst the praise.

Murray 3-D, if you don't have a Derya MK12 & aren't specifically speaking to it, you're derailing the thread... Why not post your Turkish shotgun experience, with specific models and problems etc in another thread?

As for me & my Derya, another ~100 rounds went downrange without a single issue. Slugs, buckshot & birdshot.

3 other guys (one member here & two range newbies) shot my Derya MK12 & it was smiles all around. General consensus was "what an awesome shotgun!" :ar15:

Anyone want to clean it for me, lol.

Cheers
Jay

I cannott speak for any other Turkish shotguns, but Jay's was put together well. I have seen North American stuff from reputable manufacturers that looked way worse than that was. I had planned to buy one but ended up with a Versa Max for a really good deal (liked the idea of 3 1/2" shells if I wanted).

You obviously haven't used a Derya mk12... It is a very well made shotgun. Since my break in period I haven't had a single malfunction. And it has reliably worked during my duck hunts also. Over a 1000 target loads in it now. If you did a search on this shotgun you would see that it's doing very well in competitions!

Murray. I respect your willingness to go against the grain and speak up with your opinion, however I do not see anything mentioned in your post about Derya Mk12 experience. You did mention the MKA 1919 and others from TI. Admittedly those early generation Turkish tactical guns had issues. Even the Derya Mk10 had is share of issues.

Now this will blow you away. They listened and improved their products. The result is the Derya Mk12. It is not like the others you and your friends have experience with.

Hell don't take my word for it. Check out what was used at the last IPSC World Championships in France. If you do some google foo or YouTube foo you will see stage after stage with the Derya Mk12. They cleaned up. I have been to this level of competition in IPSC. You don't spend all that time and money training and then the expense of traveling the world to shoot junk. You show up with reliable gear to give everything you got.

I wish you were on the east coast. I'd drag you a$$ to the range and make you shoot the thing till your knee deep in shell hulls.

Please go out and shoot one then come back and report.

Cheers

So I was the guy who was able to handle and let some rounds free (wish I could have sent some more) but there's always next time. I'm not a big shotgun guy, tbh I had a moss 590ai spx which was good fun till i lost the rear ghost ring. Anyways I'd gladly pick one of these up if I find a deal, action was smooth and the trigger break was crisp, pairing it with the Holusun optic just completed the package. Definitely not a piece that would be collecting dust. @Jay range trip soon! don't forget the Derya ;) as for the two other lads, they are driving back to Tdot thinking of where they can go get their PAL's.

Glad you liked my Derya MK12 spl01t77!!!

Best price right now is $949 at SFRC with their 18% off sale...

Or there's the EE where I found mine with board sponsor International Shooting Supplies... cou:

Next time I am at the range, you're more than welcome to run the Derya, tons of fun smashing clays on the backstop 'eh?

Cheers
Jay
P.S. Nice to hear the other two chaps are going to get their PAL after their first range trip!

Another ~75 rounds down the pipe today, NO ISSUES!

Had to try 1&7/8oz turkey loads... Oh boy are the turkeys in trouble 'if' I get a chance at one! LOL :ar15:

So I shot a turkey using the full choke tube that came with my Derya MK12 tossing 1&7/8oz of #6 lead at about 25 meters. (Federal Turkey Load, Turkey Thugs going 1210fps) It worked great!

I love the red dot and want to continue to use this shotgun for turkeys, so I felt like I needed a turkey tube...

So off to Al's Corner Store in Arnprior where I bought a Carlson's Long Beard XR .650 Turkey Choke and Winchester Long Beard XR Lok'd and Lethal 1&3/4oz of #6 shot. They say this will deliver a 10" circle @ 40 yards...)

And here is where my first criticism of the Derya MK12 comes in. It would not fit some Beretta Mobil choke tubes! So, try before you buy is my advice.

I think a range trip is in order!!!

Cheers
Jay
