I don't know about the reload stuff, but the factory stuff should not jam. Generally the gun needs to be held firm, no limp wrist or anything like that. All the bullet energy neets to be transferred directly into the gun. The only time I had jams, was when I held it "off". Not saying you are but not sure how new it is for you.

If you reload then stick to a heavier bullet like 240 grains. I've tried 180 grain but you have to load it hot to operate the gun properly.

I find that that the gun does jam but that is my fault and not the gun. If you shoot with two hands the problem should go away.

you can't really limp wrist a Desert Eagle, my wife a bought a new 9mm Glock a few years ago yet had great difficulty with limp wristing, she is a slight build weighing only 96Lbs yet she could outshoot many of the men in the club using my .50 Desert Eagle, she also owned a GP100, a nice collection of Walthers, PP's and PPK's, a Hammerli a FAS to name a few, she also shot for three different counties in the United Kingdom winning many trophies, most of her training techniques she put down to Yoga for both breath control and trigger control, it paid dividends when it came to competitions.

Desert Chickens will not cycle properly even with brand new commercial ammunition. They like heavy bullets with hot loads. Don't forget that it's action is very heavy and uses a lot to cycle the gas system. They are very picky about which ammo they like on any given day. They are one of the pickiest guns when it comes to powder choice (reloaded or facrory), bullet weight and load.

They are also extremely rough on brass. The extractor likes to chew up the rim a little bit each time, so don't plan on reloading the brass forever like you can with a 45ACP or with a 44 wheel gun.

Use at least a 240gr bullet with max load of H110 being 24gr. Some brave people have loaded them hotter than the book and Hodgdon web site values but that is not recommended and I save Bubba loads like that for the revolver.

That load should work for you and will cycle the gun properly and be about 95% jam free. Mine was used and and abused before I got it so could use the spring kit to be 100%.

I have the Desert eagle in .357Mag put over 3500 rounds though it and only had one jam because of Remington's Golden Saber(they are low recoil). Tried one and it didn't work.

One Hand, had to take the picture :)
