Desert Eagle: Details Needed

I hear everyone saying .50AE this and .44 mag that. Does anyone talk about the .357? Don't give me the "why waste the gun on .357" spiel. I've always been interested in DE's, but since I don't own any .44's but .357 lever exists. I don't feel like another calibre. Reliability factors for .357?

The DE was actually originally chambered for the .357magnum :)
I too like this one (.357) just 'cause of the cost appeal - ideally though I'd have the kit with all 3 barrels.

that's a great deal for the gold coating. Having said that, MRI says that the gold plating is strictly for show - it scratches very easily. So you need two DE's - one gold for show, and one TCN for shooting :)

the DE is all about being big and fun. has nothing to do with practicality. I got my first DE in 44 and love it. haven't shot any of my other pistols since and some are even sold now (been about four years). just picked up another DE this last fall in 50 AE. love it too. you can not compare the DE to other small autoloaders. compare it the other big autoloaders and its a great quality reliable unit. I've never heard of anyone say they don't like their DE. as for 357, don't bother imho. if you're going get one, then get the 44 unless you can afford the 50. you wont be sorry.

Where do you get this bulk 50ae ammo from, whats the price of it?
It's not bulk, Samson ammo and it comes in 500rd cases, I got a smokin deal on it because I bought a 1000rds from Royal Sportsman while they were around. Worked out to about 1.25 a round. I got lots of good brass if anyone needs.

I've shot the 357, 44 and 50 DE's. I really liked them - 357 is like shooting a rimfire (a really loud rimfire), 44 is quite mild but 50 is very definitely the real thing. Not so much from recoil (that would be similar to your revolver) but the torque is a real trip, even with a very firm hold.

Incidently, there used to be a 41 mag DE as well, very rare.
