Did you guys had reliability problems?

I cant believe i see so many people who had bad experiences with DE's.

I shoot two and now i own one in 44.

So i tried only 3 eagles never seen a single jam. Even putted 100(sellier & bellot)rounds through mine while it was BRAND NEW without problem.(cleaned+oiled)

Did i got lucky??
 
I never had problems with mine, the novelty just wore off the .50ae was underwhelming and theres are other guns id rather shoot in .357 and .44.
 
Very reliable and accurate ( 44 mag), if you except the weight and size, its a top notch mecanic... JP.
 
at first when I got mine it had problems. but all I did was switch magazine springs and now it shoots 100% fine. I find that the only time it gives you problems is when you try and shoot weak loads in it. I am reloading and it usually takes close to a maximum charge to work right. factory ammo always is good. I find the best stuff is the wolf 240g tmj.

anyways. its as good as any gun. but remember its a gas gun and not blow back so other pistols are not the same thing. the desert eagle is more of an AR15 then it is a 1911.
 
My 44 shoots fine - only issue I had was when I was reloading and testing and loads that were not close to max wouldn't cycle the gun well. With a DE they even include the list of factory ammo they say is known to work well.
 
The desert eagle will never be as reliable as a glock or basically, any other pistol. It is very sensitive to limp wristing and you need full house load to increase its reliability. The pistol will get filthy really quick which also affect reliability. You also need to be careful with your grip,make sure that your thumb doesn't ride the slide. So yeah, there a lot of variable in order to run a desert eagle properly. It's still a fun gun though.
 
Mine wouldn't cycle using factory ammo on a regular basis, and when it did cycle the slide sometime didn't go all the way forward after putting the new round in the chamber.

This was in .44, I replaced the springs and the extractor with no change in performance and decided to just get rid of it.

I had no problems with a 50 AE I had, but if I took new shooters out who wanted to try it and they limp wristed it, It did not cycle properly.
 
My 50 AE runs fine, like others have said lighter reloads can cause problems but with factory ammo or equivalent reloads it is 100% reliable.
 
0 issues with mine in .50AE. I use 300 grain Hornady hollowpoints and have never had any function issues. Love it.
 
Mine runs great in both 44 and 50. I had minor fitting issues with the 44 barrel that I bought subsequently, but Freedom Ventures fixed it no problem. As others have mentioned, there is definitely a technique to it, but I'm amazed at how accurate it is particularly in 50. I don't shoot it much but it is great end-of-the-range-trip gun when I bring some friends.

Had the same issue with mine.
 
The only problem i have been having with mine is releasing the slide, it seems to jam up and I got to pull it a couple times to get it to go. (shows up on my video). I have to get some dummy rounds and see what is causing it, just haven't taken the time to look at it much yet.
