Sorry Axis, that's like saying that I would play in the NBA if I "had" to, but I'm not EVER going to practice. I'll be fine, should I ever be forced to play professional basketball; I'm sure of it; but I'll be d*mned if I'm going to abuse that poor ball needlessly!

I don't really have a problem with the video. They could have dispatched it a little sooner, put it out of it's misery. But look, these Feral Hogs, are no different than the rampant Gophers that are present on the Prairies. They are a pest. Who doesn't like to see a video of Gophers exploding from a 22-250 using V-Max's at 100 yards.:D

Like I have always stated, Ethics has nothing to do with a legal hunt. Ethics is something that we all have to chose individually, and you can't force that on to someone else. If you don't like what you saw, well, to bad. It seems like it was a legal hunt, I feel they could have dispatched the animal a little quicker, but you know what, those guys will probably sit down, have a couple of beers, while the Pig is roasting over a fire, and have a story to tell to boot, and some of them might feel bad, and do things differently next time.

Wow this thread is a train wreck. Too many armchair quarterbacks in my opinion, however, I'm not going to crap all over them like some of the 'righteous' have been doing here.

If you have ever been hunting and have been lucky enough to harvest an animal you would know that it is not always a bang flop kill even when the shot was placed properly. I have shot many deer and many through the heart and they continued to run for quite a way before dropping. Last year I shot a doe at 75 yards and she ran 100 yards before dropping. By the time I got to her she was still moving and took her last breath after at least a minute of being shot. She was heart and lung shot. I have also shot deer in front of dogs and have on one occasion shot a doe that was still alive when I walked up to it (she was shot in the spine). Unfortunately the dog beat me to her and enjoyed a good portion of her backside before I finished her off. Gruesome yes and unfortunate but as quick as I could under the circumstances.

The point is hunting isn't always pretty and the fact is that some animals suffer before they die. To expect otherwise and to think that all kills are instantaneous speaks volumes about those who think that should be the case.
 
I agree there should be a yes this is cruel and should have been handled better option. On another valid point there is no way in hell I would go hunting with anyone who is as poor a shot as that yankee yokel and if they are that incapable of choosing a suitable weapon I would choose one for them. Before you start your girly whining Corpus; (I personally think you're the shooter in the video as well) YES I have hunted feral hog AND wild boar... in TEXAS even, so I'm not exactly a johnny come lately armchair quarterback on this one.

Here. Here. Face it Corpus. The guy shooting didn't have a clue where he was aiming. He just saw a PIG in his sights and shot like a wanker on coke. Learn to shoot and dispatch game humanely. Best thing he could have done is not film it for the rest of us and for the world to see. It's plain bad press for us hunters with honor for the game and the sport.

I liked the read,the pig is dead and the poster got everyone worked up and had a great time doing it.He is very articulate and creative and I think you all fell into the trap.It was never about the pig, just a tool to get the exchange going.The poster would say blue is red if they felt a great exchange could be had.Do another that was great.

I grew up on cattle/pig farm...

After dealing with pigs for many years...this video doesn't really bother me.

I have seen worse in person...

We bought 3 pigs of a local farmer a few years ago...

His method of kill...(we used to use .22 on farm).

He hog tied back leg. Put tractor forks over fence and hooked up pig by back leg(ALIVE). He then lifted the pig over the fence suspended in the air. He borrowed my hunting knife and stabbed the pig in the neck. We had to watch this for 3 pigs...as they squealed and bled out. Took about 1-2 minutes for each pig.

Far more barbaric than that video...
 
Ride the pig it may be wounded but it ain't dead yet,get on and ride it hard,I got another hour to kill.
