Desert Eagle XIX .44 or .50 ???

Alright we need a 50 cal hand gun match next time you go to poco. I want to see who's D.E.shoots better my nickel or your gold. Don't you love it when you shoot this fire breathing dragon???
:shotgun:

I'm gonna shoot it in an IPSC match this year. I've finally got the holster, spare mags, mag pouches, and 500 reloaded .50AE rounds.

Watch my son flinch at the end of the video. hehe He did really well shooting the DE though. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but we shoot IPSC together so I figured he could handle it. Dealing with recoil is not so much about strength as technique.

This is what you get when you reload your own. A Gold flame thrower.:D

Go with the .44mag - its like shooting .357mag out of a revolver. If and when it suits you, you can buy a 50AE barrel and mag. Its a no-brainer to swap back and forth. 50AE is a PITA to get and its pretty expensive. The DE is a pretty cool toy!

I also have a question, someone told me that factory .44 rounds aren't hot enough to make the DE cycle.....

LOL! Something else is obviously going on - the grip is too weak or wrist is too limp. If you look at the video earlier on in this thread, you will see that the shooter has a good firm stance and strong firm grip. As long as you have that, your DE should cycle every time, whether you're shooting .357mag, .44mag or 50AE. Each will fail to cycle properly if you don't, no matter how hot the load. A 50AE casing nailed me in the forehead once. Why did it happen? My grip was too relaxed.

I was the one that mentioned that earlied. No weak wrists here. I have a Mk I which I think is part of the problem. Factory loads won't cycle the action far enough to the rear to pick up the next round.

Ok I gotta show my picture again. I just shot my 50 AE in the Kamloops 3 gun and Kelowna's IPSC fun match. It was great. Very acurate but slow. I had feed problems but I don't care. I will shoot till I can't get any more ammo. Then I might think about a 44 barrel. My right thumb joint is still a little sore but that's what advil is for.
