Desert Eagle

Where do you live? Half the fun with these things is shooting them, the other half is watching other people react to shooting them. If you're local to someone with one, there's a better than zero chance they'd be willing to meet up with you at a range some time and let you shoot a couple rounds.

Unless you've shot them, and were just considering buying one just to own it. Can't help you there.

That's a great idea. I'm in Toronto. Anyone who owns one of these babies hit me up! I'll pay for the ammo and the pizza.

It is definitely worth it. Great thing is the easy swaps between 44 and 50. The version with the external break is the coolest imo.

Absolutely !!!! I have one in 50AE and one in 44 Mag. While the 44 Mag is fun to shoot, I would sell it today if I could replace it with something else. To me, if you are going to own one it must be 50AE.

This. .50AE is synonymous with the D.E. There are a million other guns in 44 mag, or 357 mag, I don't see the point in a Desert Eagle unless it's in .50AE. Less recoil, but the whole friggin point is more recoil; the gun is mostly useless for anything other than having fun.

I picked this chrome .44 Mag version up from the EE a couple of years ago. A .50AE model would’ve been nice but I figured it’d be easier to get ammo and components for the .44. Not that practical, but one of my most fun guns to shoot.

44? pussy... lol

Reloading a 44 DE with H110 produces large fireballs
After 1800 rounds of 44, the small parts break/loosen up.
so far, had to replace a broken extractor, bolt stabilizer pin which stuck in the slide, and the firing pin stop which loosened up. the company sells an unlisted firing pin stop that has a nylon plastic screw threaded in so it can be tightened into the slot and not drop out under recoil. i removed the bolt stabilizer pin myself and stoned it/ sanded it a little to allow it to move freely. it must have imperceptibly peened itself enough out of line to stick. the parts are cheaper if ordered directly from MR so i ordered a new one and spring just to be safe.
Also, under recoil the screws holding the safety loosen up, so you need to use a small amount of locktite (I use purple)

and no, the rounds are not overloaded as i do not mix brass cases and weigh every round after loading. no pressure signs on the primers. i also changed the recoil springs around 1500, which was before the stop/pin issue
