Desert tactical Arms SRS

Thanks DTA has a video showing a person shooting left handed but it dosent look like he had a proper cheek weld to me

Interesting question, I have not tried it lefty yet, I will give it a shot tomorrow and let you know.

As for caliber, .338 with a .308 conversion.

do you have one

Yes, with 338LM and 308 barrels. It's a nice rifle for the money, IMO. Target also has a DRS-1 in 308. Both rifles are available in 308, 300WM & 338LM. The DTA is also available in 243.

DRS-1 (fap, fap, fap - LOL)

Do you think it could be shot left handed without any trouble ?

Hope it will help you

I would say you are right handed but can you get a proper cheek weld if it was to be shot left handed also what caliber are u using

Hope it will help you,
here is what i have found FROM DTA them self :

The bolt has a 60 degree lift and six lugs. The bolt manipulation is about 2-3 inches rearward of a normal bolt gun, It feels very natural and you don’t loose your cheek weld during operation. Your technique changes slightly but it is very accommodating. If you shoot the SRS left handed then you have to roll your head over slightly to manipulate the bolt.

We won’t be making a lefty, at least not for a while, sorry.

You can also get them at The Shooting Edge in Calgary. Thats where I got mine:)
338 Lapua.
I haven't tried it Left handed but I am really happy with my purchase. Printed a .75 inch group at 300 yards with Hornady 250 grain factory loads the first day I had it.
Really comfortable to shoot and the weight balance makes it easy to shoulder and fire free hand if you want to.

Expensive but worth it.

Very impressive for calibre and factory ammo - a three or 5 shot group ?

DSR-1 forget shooting it comfortably left handed. The cheekrest and handgrip aren't designed to shoot left handed though the gun is quite nice but for the money, it had better be!!

Dessert Tactical in 308 - I went through three different types of ammo shooting left and my buddy did also who is X Canadian sniper and he wasn't impressed with the results at 100yds. He's going to do load development of course but overall, the gun felt cheap. The gun was plastic feeling and it didn't eject the casings consistently either with most falling back into the raceways. For the money spent, it probably works for milspec but it isn't a terribly accurate gun in my books.

wow, quite disapointed to read that, was to order one NOW but i think i will wait, honestly, i didn't read a lot of bad comments about this rifle but this one is by far the worst loll

Thank's anyway for sharing Glock

The mags are a joke too. For the 308, they've welded a stop plate into the Long mags and they look cheaply done also. The gun is light and well balanced but when you pull the trigger, there is a weird twang that transfers through the plastic stock. Accuracy wise, my buddy had an S&B high powered scope and with literally zero recoil due to it having a muzzle brake, I was expecting bullets dropping on top of bullets. Laying prone with a rear bag, having such a light gun was definitely harder to stay on target then my heavy ATRS 308.
My 308 was still a driller after having the action replaced due to material failure. I can't complain at all aside from now wanting a Cadex Defense stock to replace the McMillan A5.

3 Shot group.
Off the concrete table using the bipod and monopod.

It actually measured 0.72 inch 3 shot group at 300. It will probably do a little better when I get my new scope on it and get a little better definition.

I can't wait to do some load development and see what it is really capable of.

Doesn't even sound like glock-a-maniac was shooting the same gun? I have not noticed the "twang"
With double ejector plungers on the 338 I find it ejects brass almost too well. They really fly when you stroke the bolt back. Maybe the problems are with the 308 version since it's sort of a factory retrofit because the rifle was designed to be 338 Lapua and they decided later to make it available in other calibers.

that is very Impressive shooting, specially with such a heavy magnum caliber like the 338lapua, heard much good thing about the rifle.

I was really surprised by the groups considering I was using factory Hornady 250 grain hpbt.
Not alot of shooting skill required when I'm shooting from a concrete table and off the bipod and monopod though.

I still don't have a muzzle brake on it yet, US customs is very slow but it should be here soon. I'm surprised how manageable the recoil is without it and it sure is alot nicer on the ears for now. I think I'm going to take off the brake every hunting season.

I really like the weight and the balance of the rifle. Because alot of the weight is behind the pistol grip it seems to make it feel alot lighter than a regular rifle. I can shoulder this one alot easier than the Remington 700P in 338 Lapua that I just sold.
