There are no brakes on the hype train. I want this rifle so bad.
you forgot to add the 1000$ Non restricted tax....
The modern hunter like the AR-15 is a modular design with a removable upper and a lower. Selling restricted uppers becomes an issue as the question of "whats stopping them from putting a Short barrel upper on a registered NR lower?" Why muddy the waters when the ATRS has a unique niche. Basically an AR-15 that is Non restricted with a huge NR price point as well. A $4k ATRS restricted Modern Hunter or Varmint will be competing directly against the highest priced AR-15's...and loose, spectacularly.
Its a massive cash cow for ATRS and they have no intention of bringing their guns anywhere near "restricted" name tag.
With that being said, i predict 2019 for this beauty of a bullpup to be NR in Canada.
Bring a restricted in, get it classified and then go get a non restricted barrel made. Easy enough to add an extra line to the existing frt to show one barrel length as restricted and one as non restricted.
The action not being capable of being made full auto is what takes time at the lab. Not measuring the barrel length.
That's the problem with the RPD. The RCMP don't have a full auto version to compare it to. When you have a purpose built semi-auto that doesn't have a full auto cousin it gets a FRT faster.
Say what?
Lever Arms K-12 Puma.
Non-R, as mspben said.
