I've been following on the bullpup forums and sounds like the first runs were very bcl like with early adopters essentially being beta testers and lots of issues with delivery times.
However, it does seem like most things have been sorted out and will likely be fine by the time the Canadian order comes in.

Dissapointing video, however, it sounds like they only really tested ammo in the 150gr range. And there was no talk about lubrication.
Did they runt it dry? Wet?
Will the Canadian compliant barrel's extra dwell time help stabilize has pressure?
How clean was the rifle? I would assume a demo gun shipped for free this was likely not its first stop.
I have a lot of questions that I will have to answer myself when it arrives.
I am sure these guys know what they are doing, but none of that info was discussed.

Except this was apparently a brand new gun and this video was posted only a few days ago...
It'd be a minimum of $3K if we somehow got them at the U.S. price at current exchange rate, which is not gonna happen.
A couple of things to point out...
1) We don't know if they stripped it down and cleaned/lubed the rifle. Also if you use G96 and a good pure synthetic oil, you can avoid all this break in stuff. What they posted here is similar to what many experienced with the Kel Tec RFB. Mine didn't require any break in due to how I cleaned/lubed it. If they just left the packing oil then this could be part of the issue as well.
2) They are shooting ball ammo etc out of it. That's likely a Lothar Walther barrel in that rifle. It's not a chrome lined lead hose barrel ideally suited for surplus ammo.
Not promising from that video, but I've seem those type of problems before and they can usually be avoided fairly easily. At least I hope so. If not I'm going to be fairly disappointed.

I know. I've watched their videos before. I generally enjoy them. I was still inclined to think they just ran it out of the box due to the comment about seeing if the red dot was sighted in at the factory and then discovering that it wasn't. But who knows as they don't mention the clean/lube.
I only mention this because I saw all of this before with the RFB. No break in was required with the right lube, ammo and gas setting. The more factors involved the greater chance of something not working out.
Nice looking rifle. I think I'll be using a Harris on mine as the magpul looks too chunky. It might look better on the longer barreled Canadian versions.
Not an encouraging video. I'm hoping this isn't how they will be when we get them.
Would have been interesting to see how it would run without the Ejection cover on.
It sounds like the accuracy isn't great 1-3 moa but not sure if people have used good ammo scopes.

Gun looks pretty sweet, my inner child wants one.
Maybe I'm just old or naieve but it seems like newer guns have more and more problems with them. If I'm paying $3400 for a rifle I would expect it to shoot anything I put in it. Accurately. This MDR seems super finicky, seems like you'd pay a lot of money for a gun that can only use a couple brands of ammo.
The modular aspect of the gun is cool, hopefully it's a little smoother turn out than the ACR mess.

Yea that's really messed up and not practical at all.

The forward ejecting thing is cool, but for reliability people may want to run without it or they should have the option of a simple cover.

It's a 16.5" barrel and not a lot of room on the handguard to have the bipod and hold it off hand. That being said, the magpul bipod is too chunky for that rifle/barrel combination. I think it will look better on ours with 19" barrels. Plus I would go with a Harris just to keep it less bulky looking. I have the magpul bipod on my BCL 102 and it's not a bad combo. But that gun has a fairly large handguard and a lot more real estate, so it doesn't look out of place. Long story short, I agree with you that the bipod looks odd on that rifle the way they have it setup.
