Desert Tech SRS-A1 338LM Gets Brutalized

Every rifle and every barrel that comes out of Britain must also be proof fired.

PGW and AI will survive this abuse as well, there is a reason their receivers are as massive as they are.

I think the proof test of the Brits is at the much lower 80,000'ish psi which most/all US manf do with their actions.... why it looks like your brand new rifle has been shot. It has...

This doesn't break anything but ensures their butts are covered in case there was a flaw in the part.

I am refering to the design proof where in a lab, the actions are tested to destruction. If they cannot meet a 120,000psi threshhold (or thereabouts), the design is rejected. This is to ensure consumer safety wrt to a catastrophic failure. They will also confirm proper gas venting and the like.

No action can be sold once exposed to this level of pressure... strictly in the lab as a proof of design.

AFAIK.

In one trial, I believe DND lodged a bullet in the chamber of a Timberwolf and fired it. Action was tested and was still good to go.
