Long story Long, Seen a guy while fishing last week, pulled out a blued dessert eagle .50 cal. jumped in the water with his gun and said he was going fishing. I laughed and pulled in my line. Sure as Sh-t, he is swimming around in the river with his gun for 10 min. and we feel this BOOOONNNGGG. The guy surfaces right away and is yelling that his eyes and ears hurt like he11, and he says " DID I GET THE FU--ER?, WATCH FOR IT, SEE IF IT COMES UP"!!!
He gets out of the water and fires one off into the far bank! I couldn't believe it, under water, with the barrel full of water, this gun shoots, and reloads, UNDER WATER..
10 min later, when his ears stop hurting, he goes back into the water to see if he can find his nickel brass and he comes up with 14" trout and his bullet he found on the river bottom!!!!
The fish was dead, but the bullet, aside from the riffling, looked like it could be reloaded. I still can't belive it! Gun reloads under water ready to be fired again.
Aside from the million laws he just broke, I am still in shock.
Hats off to the Dessert Eagle, and the fisherman from Saskatchuwan!
UNREAL!!!!!! Funniest, most sureal crime, I ever witnessed.
It was At the underwater shooting range on an Alberta River!!!!!!!!!!

anybody care to debunk this with basic physics? something about water being an incompressible fluid. i think Mythbusters did an episode related to this...

mythbusters did do an episode....I think they found most guns won't reload under water, they just jam.

The thing I definitely remember is firing bullets under water...they only manage to go 5-10 feet, you may be able to kill a fish, but I think it'd have to be point blank.

Firing a bullet into water in most cases won't work either....the bullets just break apart.

Those guns in your AV will work well under water. All glocks are designed to fire reliably underwater, so long as you make certain to fill the barrel with water before firing, or else you WILL burst the barrel. The Deagle uses a gas system, so it seems less likely than a recoil operated system to work properly, but Our newb posting about the illegal activities of others says it did, so take it for what it's worth.

Given that water is an uncompressable medium, firing a gun underwater while you are also underwater, should be considered a last chance option. The Sound waves will travel through the water, and cause extreme damage to your ears, as well as possibly your internal organs. Very likely the Fish was not hit, but killed by the sound waves travelling through the water. The mythbusters are also to be thanked for this last bit. They tested the shooting fish in a barrel myth, and found 1 round fired through a barrel, would likely kill every fish in the barrel.

Myself, when I see something illegal, if it's something I have a problem with, I report it to the police. If it's something I don't have a problem with, I certainly don't post about it on an open forum, where it could be used by those who'd take away the limitted freedoms we still cling to. I guess I'm just wierd.

And with that...... el locko....
