You line up the sights and focus on the front blade I believe.

Receiver sights are so much better for me though. I wear glasses and have no problem with them; they actually seem to sharpen the sight picture.

I think needing a scope may have more to do with failing vision at close range? If you have to wear reading glasses I'm guessing you would be in trouble.

I used steel Weaver bases and QD rings on mine w/o any problems.

I have failing vision at all ranges I have an eye condition called Keratoconus which is I have fewer collagen cross links in my corneas.

This results in my corneas being thinner than average resulting in my corneas drooping slightly.

I wear glasses or speciality hard centre/soft outer contacts, the contacts lift my corneas giving me better sight than I can get from glasses but I now have to wear reading glasses as well.

My right/aiming eye is far worse can't focus on anything my left eye can still focus on irons but I shoot right handed and don't feel like trying to retrain myself.

So I use glass/optics now turn the focus ring until everything is clear.
