So anyone got any links to detail stripping a CZ pistol. Specifically a Shadow.

h ttp://www.czforumsite.info is the best you can get, there is even 'ask Angus' sub-forum ;)

Lots of how-to's with pix.

I've been looking at them for awhile, and was playing with a few this past weekend, yeah I'll be keeping it. whether or not it becomes main or backup gun, depends on how I like shooting it. But there are some advantages to it that's for sure.

(that link at the top wasn't working for me, even without the space, so I figured here goes)
It's exactly the same for the Shadow as in these pics, except that the sear assembly is easier to dissassemble because you can skip the process for removing the firing pin block.

Gun has been ripped apart, new hammer installed (wow, what a difference! I wonder if it would work in the Stock II?). Just gotta find a taller 1mm fibre optic front sight. The stock one shoots about 3 inches high. JP mentioned this would be the case. also need to make spacers for the Tanfoglio mags, so they don't insert too far into the frame.

If you find a taller sight let me know by PM Rob. MIne shoots high as well. For IPSC I don't find it a major problem but for IDPA our Down Zero is not as tall as the IPSC Alpha Zone. Wider but not taller.

Apparently the stock sights, as well as factory replacements are 5.5 mm, while the ones from Angus are 6.5 mm, so one of those is on the way.
Put 400 rounds through it tonight, shot great. The new competition hammer produces a much better SA than the original one, a lot shorter reset. I had splits at 10yds down to .14. The gun is a bit snappier than the Tanfoglio, but I figure once the stainless guide rod shows up, that'll help a bit by making the gun heavier at the front. Definitely shoots high, and a bit left. I'm a bit perplexed by that as the sights are all dead center. I'm also ordering the other trigger (straighter) with the over travel screw. Once all that is installed, along with the new front sight, I'll check zero again. If it's still to the left, I'll move the rear sight a bit. it's not a huge deal, but enough to be annoying.
now I have to figure out a way to make a spacer to slip onto the Tanfoglio mags to remove the gap between the frame and the mag, I'm already beating up the mag catch holes on my Tan mags by inserting too hard on a slide lock reload. The mags go in too far and can actually jam, the factory mags don't do this of course, but they are those stupid 3/4 body mags. The base plates on them fall off as soon as they hit the floor. I'm gonna get Henning to measure his baseplates for the Tan small frame mags, if they are thicker at the lip area I'll just order some of his. I basically need the lips to be twice as thick.
loving the gun though.

I've had no problems at all shooting to POA with my own Shadow. Are you by any chance using something special for ammo? I ask as I'm just about to get into loading my own 9mm for the coming year and I was going to go with 124gn bullets loaded to around 128 to 130 PF. From what I've read this is slightly softer than factory ammo.

tightgroup and 147gr JHP Gold Dots is my competition load, 3.8grs of TG I think. loaded long. But I tried it with factory and other load combos, same thing.

In general, CZs and the Shadow like fairly short loads where I load with OAL of 1.09".

+2. Rob I think you will find with the Shadow you will want to load them shorter rather than longer. Thanks for the heads upon the front sight. My Shadow shoots high as well and I will have a new front sight on it's way on Monday.
