Detonics... anyone heard of 'em?

supposedly their pretty dang good but a long wait to get into canada
I was looking at them but I want a 1911 now so im going with the STI
I believe LRC bought one and is now waiting for it
and Rick at ATR really likes em too
but for me Its all about the wait (maybe ill still get one one day)

Its a shame they butchered the rear of the slide and used the ugly rear sight on the commander length model (servicemaster)... just doesn't look right, IMO.

Steep price, $1200 USD can get you a number of proven higher end 1911s... especially considering that the $1200usd really turns into something like $1800cdn by the time the gun gets to ya.

I have a brand new unfired .45ACP Detonics Scoremaster in my collection. It is one beautiful stainless steel gun. It has some features like Bomar adjustable sights, bevel magazine well, ambi safety and a full length guide rod. Features that are usually seen on custom 1911's. I may post it for sale.

Depends on the vintage. Three different companies have been called Detonics.

+1 The original Detonics were some of the first 'custom combat' factory pistols. Very nicely made with various options, and made of stainless they were well ahead of their time.
