Well, with the computer down the past week and thus no CGN I was bored out of my skull the other night and decided to put together a couple of "####" shots with my absolute favorite 1911s on the planet...the superior and without equal Detonics Scoremasters!

I'm a hard core Detonics fan for the past 25 of my 34 years on planet Earth...the original Detonics company was a true pioneer and they really set the bar for all 1911s that came thereafter. Since then, many companies have copied their concept and we see many of the Detonics improvements today in the multitude of bull barrel, bushingless & extremely accurate 1911s on the market today. Well, Detonics did it first and here is some bling, bling pics of my pride and joy, two original Washington State Detonics Scoremasters.

X-man,
Thanks for the pics; they look excellent. Owning two Scoremasters is nice enough, having two original Bellevue guns... well that's just unfair. Congratulations. Love the 8, 'banana' knife as well.

Hi Pat, they have the original Detonics recoil system. What's great about the new Detonics USA company (despite the very recent change in ownership) is that they continue to employ this system in their guns and the parts are interchangeable, even with the Bellvue/Seattle guns like mine. Not that either of mine need it, but the new Detonics USA will also service original Detonics guns (no free warranty work unfortunately) and they'll also sell factory replacement parts if needed.:dancingbanana:

Strangeday, did you buy one of the new Detonics USA Scoremasters (Tactical or Target?) or pick up a vintage Washington model...or perhaps Arizona? Can't go wrong either way!:D

Scarecrow, thanks, but I'll pass on your very generous offer!;) :D :slap:

TR1, welcome aboard CGN! :D Thanks for your kind words, and for noticing that lovely Emerson courtesy of CGN's own "Thrust" sponsor, Noah Walt.:D

Looks like you also have some spare cash in case another couple of those beauties come along... :p

You know it! Detonics 1911s are like crack...one hit and you're hooked! I'd like to add a new Detonics USA Servicemaster Compact to the collection soon. They're roughly the same size as a Commander, with shorter grip and scaled down a little to make them more suitable for CCW. From all appearances, the new Detonics USA is more than living up to the reputation of the original firm in terms of quality and innovation. It helps, as well, that the original head 'smith Mr. Peter Dunn, has the same position in the new company. Peter knows how to build superior 1911s and continues to do so today.
