How many of you have used this for bedding compond? How long does it last sealed in the container. How does it compare to Acraglas Gel? I normally use the acraglas gel and have great luck with it, but I am tring to save a few bucks and Wholesale in Edmonton is out. What would you use for a release agent ? car wax?
Thanks for looking,

I prefer Devon Titanium. Done right, you don't even need a skim coat....it has bedded perfectly for me the first time every time I've used it.....I use PAM cooking spray as a release agent, but mold release compound or liquid floor wax works just as well, PAM is just my personal preference.....

Devcon and Marine-Tex are superior bedding compounds when compared to Acraglass and similar compounds.

Devcon/Marine-Tex steel expoxies are not affected by cleaning solvents, shrinking/cracking due to age.

The U.S. Military marksmenship teams and Sniper units having been using Devcon/Marine-Tex for years.

A good paste floor wax can be used as a release agent. As mentioned, PAM cooking spray works as well.

Devcon can be found at Acklands Grainger Industrial supply stores, and Marine-Tex can be found at Boating supply stores.

Hands down for Devcon, as far as shelf life look on the container there is a expiry date. If you use it try mixing up the liquid that might be on the top of the resin before using, this will assure that the drier lower part gets moist and will last longer.

When I used Pam, it never fully cured and it was all porous. Maybe I used too much??? Instead I have resorted to floor wax. If you heat it up slightly with a heat gun it comes free very nice and won't chip. Also, we found that it we put it in the oven at 115 degrees F for 90 min. it is cured.
