Just received my belt loader for my 1919A4. I loaded a belt already, it took about 45 minutes, but I was trying to figure it out and I didn't look at the instructions. I'm going to wait until I run a belt through my 1919 before I load the rest of them. The builder, Jim, has done a great job designing and building these. They can load .308, 30-06, 7.62x54r and blanks.

Big thanks to Katazone for organizing all of this. He put a tremendous amount of work it. I really appreciate it!

I will upload photos now and then some videos.

First thoughts;
I had to start with the end of the belt, I couldn't feed the start of the belt through since my belt had a metal starter on it.
Bolt it down first, I was too excited to try it out and probably wrestling with it cause a lot of problems.
There is an allen screw that catches the ram underneath the ammo bin, it worked itself loose.
Have to make sure the pocket was open first before pushing the awl in, if you back out, another cartridge drops and causes a double feed.
The odd time a cartridge feeds under the belt.
It takes about 50 rounds before it starts working itself in. It goes smoother after that.

Timely post! I just got mine tonight as well!

Still trying to figure it all out...but it's really a cool little piece! Actually smaller than I expected as well. Shout out to KATAZONE - What a guy! If he ordered another 10 at the same time, he coulda made a pretty penny in the EE off the M37 guys. :)

Gotta screw it down first I guess... the belt advancer seems a little notchy and might need some adjusting. What's the long tool with the knurled end for? Is that for adjusting the seating depth? Sent a PM to Jim over at 1919A4 forums so we'll see what he says.

Hey guys, glad to hear you got yours already!!!!
Jim has a CGN hadle as well: Beltloader
Or you can find him on 1919a4.com as: Dewat
If you have any problems contacting him here or on the other forum, let me know and I'll pass on the email.
I think Griffin86 is referring to the photobucket link that I believe has Jim's instructions....videos and pics. Here is the link, see if you can find anything in the albums on the left column.

I will tune in as well when I get mine.

A quick note....I also have a linker and found that if I seat the cartridges too deep in the links by pushing the press too hard, she won't like it. although this is cloth, I'm thinking maybe a similar issue could occur.
I would load 50 and give her a go first.
Thanks for the shout outs guys.
Cheers and have fun.

Just recieved mine as well . very well made . I have`t had a chance to try it , but i`m sure it will work well . Mine is in 8 x 63 , took advantage of Marstars belted milsurp years ago.
I would also like to thank Katazone for a job well done . I would go this route as a group buy with him any time. Great guy , thanks again.

Shaun.

Got mine today thanks again Katazone for arraigning this. No instructions with mine either, so I am reverse engineering it t try and make it work, definatly was not tested or tuned as I thought they were to be. So far out of the box I had to straiten one stud to put the handle on, the belt opener was disconnected and there is a safety (?) to stop you if the bullet hoper is empty that will need attention after I get the belt advancement mechanism to stop jamming so I can adjust in.

It takes some fiddling, that's for sure, but I've used some synthetic grease on all the sliding surfaces (there are a LOT) and after some tweaking it runs like a champ. Smooths right out! It doesn't handle changing your mind - you must complete the full stroke or it will/may bind up.

The sliding part attached to the needle needs to align the pin on the bottom to the channel of the silver center mechanism. Wow it' s easier in real life, but that was my problem for the first hour. The interface between those pieces in more or less a 'square' pattern is what makes it tick.

It's a fascinating little machine - Jim is an artisan! Very soiid. Even the contact surfaces against the little 'kicker' pins were heat treated. The tolerances are very good everywhere.

Thanks Katazone - do another group buy for the M37 crowd! :)

Damn, I should have listened to my instinct to GET ONE when katazone offered!

Responsibilities be damned, chuckle!

Cheers
Jay

So one loaded belt, lots of fiddling but no more blistered fingers, hopefully it breaks in and runs a little smoother. All so hope the rain stops so I can (test) the belt tomorrow.:)

Man....I'm still waiting for mine!!!!!
Jim did say he had test proofed each one. Sorry to hear about the adjustments and fiddling around.
Hope I figure it out myself :D
When you see the videos from Jim and how smooth it goes....it makes it all worth it.
Jay....when your ready, I can help you import one.

Someone please post a video of the think working smoothly once you get her going :D

Cheers guys.

Finally got mine today!!!!
Wow.....lots of pieces, I'm might have to ask Jim for help.
I haven't played with it yet and probably won't for the next week as I am leaving for a fishing trip.
For those of you that have figured it out if you would kindly like to post pictures or a video of the how to set it up, I would be grateful.
Looks very well made.
I will email Jim to get more info and I will post.

Cheers
